“Mary” came to WHS knowing she would have personal attention while receiving quality care. “Mary” was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer having survived two previous episodes of breast cancer.  “Mary” came to WHS knowing she would have personal attention while receiving quality care.  She felt extremely cared for, respected and supported.

“Dolores” received the immediate care she needed based on providers’ knowledge of cutting edge gender-specific research. “Dolores” was with her provider at WHS.  She described symptoms of nausea, vomiting, fatigue, shortness of breath and indigestion.  The provider recognized symptoms of a possible heart attack and called the ambulance for emergency care. “Dolores” received the immediate care she needed based on providers’ knowledge of cutting edge gender-specific research in how heart disease differs between women and men.  Because women’s symptoms differ from those typically reported by men, women may not receive appropriate and aggressive treatment.
